L'Officiel Brazil June 2008: Bruna Tenório

It is BRUNAaAAAA! I am intensely into this girl's face. I find myself staring at her catwalk shots for minutes admiring her Asian eyes and lovely lips. I want to be Brazilian-Japanese too!

Meet Nokia 888

Remember those popular snap bracelets back in elementary.

Nokia came up with a phone similar to that.

I can't even fit the idea in my brain. My phone is 'Jurassic' compared to this.

(I chose Barney over a Tyrannosaurus to represent 'Jurassic'. Perfect, no?)

I'm sticking with my humongous phone.

Just click ME to know more about Nokia 888.

Coke bottles

Even if I don't drink soda, I would like to get my hands on these limited-edition ‘diet Coke’ City Collection bottles. There are available exclusively to Selfridges. Patricia Field, the fashion brain behind Sex and the City and creator of these collectibles says: “The ‘diet Coke’ City Collection captures today's modern women, confidant, glamorous, sexy and more in charge of their own lives, and represents the areas of life that are most important to them such as: ‘career’, ‘passion’, ‘love’ and ‘fashion’. In addition, the designs represent ‘diet Coke’ as a sexy, sassy brand perfectly compatible with today's woman.”

Gold represents career, red represents passion, pink represents love, and turquoise represents fashion.

Japanese coins

These will be among 94 types of 500- and 1000-yen coins for each of Japan's 47 prefectures that will be released over the next eight years to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the going into force of the Local Autonomy Law, according to the Finance Ministry.

The 1,000-yen coins for Kyoto and Shimane will be sterling silver, weigh 31.1 grams and measure 40 millimeters in diameter. The government will mint a total of 100,000 of each coin.

The Kyoto coin features a scene from the classic work penned by Murasaki Shikibu (Lady Murasaki), depicting romances among members of the court in medieval Kyoto.

It will be issued before the millennial anniversary Nov. 1 of the Tale of Genji, which first appeared in recorded history in 1008.

The Shimane coin will be minted to celebrate the addition last year of the centuries-old Iwami silver mine to the World Heritage List of the U.N. Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization.

The reverse side of the coins will have a uniform design for all 47 prefectures, featuring snow crystals, cherry blossoms and a crescent moon.

The ministry said Japan will issue coins for Niigata and Nagano prefectures in the first half of fiscal 2009 to commemorate Japanese crested ibises on Sado Island and the Zenkoji Buddhist temple in Nagano City.

Tennis fashion: Sharapova

Let us stop fretting over Maria Sharapova's loss against her fellow Russian, Dinara Safina in this year's French open because, she's hitting the right balls in Wimbledon 2008. She has been all over the news not only because of her tennis prowess but also because of her smashing outfits in court. Check out her newest creation, the tuxedo tennis ensemble. Prior to the beginning of Wimbledon, she already mentioned ditching miniskirts for a more masculine attire. And look ya'll, she did not disappoint.

Przemek Sobocki in 'Common and Sense' Fantasy issue

I am a huge fan of Przemek Sobocki and I have finally decided to post some of his colored pencil illustrations. His latest work is featured in the Fantasy issue of “Common and Sense”. He combined famous movie characters and designer pieces to create wonderful images. I am not sure if these are his best work to date but, some are definitely my favorites.

Numero Korea July 2008: The Debut

It is Amy Daulhouse! This spread it hilarious and fantabulous. I give the styling a two thumbs up. I covet a lot of the pieces specifically the Prada bag in the fifth photo, her Chanel (?) sandals and shorts in the last and third shots respectively, and all of her bangles.

P.S.

Congratulations to Numero Korea! May you print more enticing spreads.

Elle Korea July 2008: It's Daniel Henney!

I have a lot of friends who are head over heels for Daniel Henney. He is undeniably hot for a Korean. I am not saying that Korean guys are not typically good looking. I am just not into guys with feminine features. Moving on, his shots don't really give justice to his hotness. The entire spread it totally creative but when you look closer, his face isn't really giving IT.

Banana quotes a friend...

June 13th, Friday
in the office, sitting and chatting (MSN)
I was having my daily kamote (sweet potato) fix on my desk when all of I sudden, I wondered...

Banana: Bakit saksakan ng sexi ni Gisele Bundchen? (Why is Gisele Bundchen so damn sexy?)

ViVi: Kasi si Gisele sha...di sha tao (Because, she is Gisele...she is not human)

Banana: korak! Un lang un...di sha tao. (Correct! That's it. She is not human)

Here's the proof:

Alice in Wonderland

I just stumbled upon a magical magazine editorial. It was featured in the December 2003 issue of Vogue US. Actually, I saw a few of the photos not so long ago but, I hesitated to copy them because they are not complete.

Natalia Vodianova, the model is really perfect as Alice. She must have felt overwhelmed working with significant personalities in the fashion industry. Looks like they had a lot of fun in the shoot.

Down the Rabbit Hole

Faster, faster, faster she fell! Chasing Tom Ford's White Rabbit, our Alice disappears down the never-ending dark passage. Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent Gauche sky-blue silk-satin dress.

Curiouser and Curiouser

Beyond nonsense verse and coming-of-age fables, Lewis Carroll's true passion was photographing moody young beauties. Olivier Theyskens, in the guise of Carroll, captures model Natalia Vodianova as Alice Liddell. Natalia wears a Rochas iridescent blue-flower ruffle dress specially designed by Theyskens.

Drink Me...

How was Alice to know the innocent little bottle would make her grow to such a size? As Helmut Lang watched from the wall, she curled her legs up and hoped the designer's organza minidress wouldn't be crushed by her startling height. Dress from the Helmut Lang made-to-measure studio.

Advice from a Caterpillar

Clad in Marc Jacobs's ruffled chiffon minidress, Alice found herself engaged in an infuriatingly roundabout conversation with a mushroom-dweller. Where am I? she wondered...and how have I gotten here?

Pig & Pepper

It was a queer-shaped little creature, and held out its arms and legs in all directions, “just like a starfish.” Chanel Haute Couture embroidered satin jacket with a draped satin skirt and cream leather boot pants. The Chanel designer wears Chrome Hearts necklaces and belt.

The Cheshire Cat

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” Alice asked sweetly of the cat with a grin as devilish as anything she had ever seen. “ That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” replied our Cat, Jean Paul Gaultier. Blue silk-jersey draped dress by Gaultier Paris.

Tweedledum & Tweedledee

“If you think we're alive, you ought to speak,” said the one marked DEE. Alice, in a Viktor & Rolf multilayered silk dress, stared as the Tweedle duo spouted nonsensical tongue twisters. Rolf Snoeren, left, and Viktor Horsting wear matching suits and bow ties of their own design.

The Mad Tea Party

“No room!” The March Hare and Mad Hatter shouted. “No room!” But Alice plunked down, desperate for some biscuits after a long day of living backward. Christian Lacroix Haute Couture dress with painted and sculpted mink dickey over a lace top and frilled lamé skirt. Stephen Jones (right), wears a custom-made hat of his own design. Lacroix, as the March Hare, is at far right.

Who Stole the Tarts?

“My name is Alice, so please Your Majesty,” the young girl, draped in Dior Couture, said softly. “ You make me giddy!” screamed the Queen. Dior Haute Couture by John Galliano hand-painted polka-dot dress. Galliano as the Queen of Hearts, wears a Dior Haute Couture coat and is accompanied by his King, Alexis Roche.

The Mock Turtle's Story

“What is his sorrow?” Alice, in Atelier Versace, asked the Gryphon. “Once,” sighed the Mock Turtle, “ I was a real turtle.” Atelier Versace layered silk-tulle and chiffon-organza dress lined in lace. Donatella Versace and Rupert Everett are in Versace.

Through the Looking Glass

Wrapped in ocean-blue Balenciaga couture, Alice perched on the mantel, longing to escape into the shadow world, as her black kitty purred nearby. Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière crystal pleated chiffon dress and grey ankle boots. Shot on location at the Château de Corbeil-Cerf.

I'm in love with Cinderella

I am truly madly deeply in love. I have been wanting to have a potbelly pig as a pet but, I am scared of not giving it enough time. I want to name my pig....“Mozzarella”. Ain't it cute? When I saw Cinderella in Telegraph, my heart fluttered in joy. I want to have a mysophobic piggie too. I will custom design him two pairs of chic red rubber boots with letter holograms on the sides.

Here's Cinderella's article in Telegraph.co.uk

Meet Cinderella, Pig in Boots

By Urmee Khan

Last Updated: 4:32PM BST 10/06/2008

Cinderella, a six-week-old saddleback pig has conquered her fear of walking in mud with the help of a pair of bespoke wellies.

After her birth, the piglet refused to join her brothers and sisters as they splashed in the muck because she suffers with mysophobia - a fear of dirt.

But now the pig has overcome her fears with a pair of green boots made of rubber - which have been created with no footwell so that her trotters slip straight in.

Former pig farmers Debbie and Andrew Keeble, who run a farm near Bedale North Yorkshire, were initially baffled by their piglets behaviour.

Debbie Keeble, 40, said: "It was the strangest thing. When the batch ventured away from their mother, Cinders just stood at the edge of her sty shaking while the others explored.

"We thought it was just that she didn't want to leave the sty or the sow but we soon noticed if we moved them to where there wasn't any mud, she happily left it and roamed around without any nonsense.

Her husband, Andrew, 42, added: "We scratched our heads a bit but then we thought, we wouldn't go in the mud bare-footed, so why not try some wellies?"

Cinderella has now been chosen to front a campaign by the couple to support the plight of pig farmers.

everyone loves sushi

I had a really pleasant lunch date last Sunday with Deco. We tried a new Japanese restaurant and the minute we saw the sushi bar, we instantaneously cried ‘Buffet’ in chorus.

This was our pile after…

7 minutes

15 minutes

25 minutes

45 minutes

Unfortunately for this resto, our sushi palates are still loyal with Yaku, Podium. This is our typical order there.

This was my get up last Sunday.

We will watch a ballet recital next month. After, we will probably have sushi at a hotel near the theatre. I want to wear something like this.

...because I adore Ai

Ai Tominaga is surely my favorite Japanese model. Would you believe she's already a mom? Shocks. I like her face specially her jaw. I just wish her lips are a bit longer and poutier. Oh well...imperfections are beautiful
